Superstudio’s Misura Furniture Again (A Model for a Revolt)

The exhibition at the Villa Romana in Florence involved the former architect group “Superstudio” (1966-1978) which radically criticised architecture and design in the 60’s and 70’s. Some of Superstudio’s domestic furniture were fabricated again using their original black and white grid pattern. The dimensions and the original proportions were only sightly modified with their authorisation. These modifications offered an opportunity for a reevaluation of the main concerns of Superstudio who were invited for a symposium. These pieces of furniture are since a permanent installation as a guest bedroom inside the Villa. This bedroom is an invitation for further thoughts on this subject.
